Best Tips for Exceptional Results in Booklet Printing

  1. Booklet printing is not an easy undertaking and therefore, careful and structured planning is required. This will keep you away from many mistakes that happen and the need to get the job redone which later on will cost you both your time and money.

  1. Before you decide which printing service you will avail, don’t forget to demand a sample from their booklet printer. Remember that high quality providers of this service will take pride on their previous work and will not hesitate to let you see their output.

  1. Don’t decide right away; make sure that several options have been presented before you choose the template. You must get the chance to choose the template, design, materials, binding options and other details of your project. You are the owner and it is very important to keep in mind that you put on the best touch possible.

  1. Agree for a specific delivery time and commitment. There should always be a clear timeline on how the service will be provided – from brainstorming, initial drafting, sample printing, final checking, printing and delivery of goods. In business, time is money! Each lost time is a lost opportunity to gain a new customer, a new lead and a potential client.

  1. Demand for work guarantee. Don’t take chances; make sure that the company provides you that guarantee that they will deliver a high quality work in the agreed delivery time and terms. A reliable booklet printing service shouldn’t be afraid to provide you an assurance that they will get the job done as per requirement. Establish a good client to client system with them too so in the future, you get perks and discounts from their business.

Raised ink Printing Services

Mosley Engelman & Jones LLP called upon us to print their business cards.  They are a prestigious law firm in Beverly Hills seeking some elegant and professional business cards. They wanted a thick cardstock with raised ink printing for the text on some uncoated matte paper.  We decided to print this job on 130lb cover cougar smooth paper as it is sturdy and also gives that nice matte feel.  We also took time to vectorize their artwork, as the logo they submitted was in jpeg format. We printed a pantone PMS color for the solid red and had the text in black.  Any attorney looking for some high quality printing services or a print company in los angeles, look no further.

Looking for a HAND MODEL?

Where is George Costanza when you need him?   If only he never would have touched that scolding hot iron!   Recently we have been snapping shots of our finished products and it occurred to me that being a hand model is a tough gig. Steady hands are hard to come by…hahaha    When the camera is zoomed in that close it really brings out the imperfections in someone’s hand.   I have also noticed that there is some kind of an art for hand poses that comes naturally to some people.  I am sticking to my day job, but somewhere out there one of you has what it takes to make some major $$$ as a hand model. I encourage you to ask your friends opinions and buy some oven mitts today!     For now, with our budget, we will stick to our staff.

Updating Webpage

Los Angeles Printer Website

Los Angeles Printer Website

Spent most of this morning working on updating look and feel of our Downtownlaprinter.com website.  I still need to add all the products, but this time I am going to be more selective.  Although we offer everything, I am going to opt for a new approach and keep the online ordering to 5 of our most popular products;  Business cards, Postcards, Club Flyers, Brochures, and Posters.   I am excited about the new look and feel.  The template we had there before just seemed a little to old fashion and did not work properly.  This new look is more sleek and enables us more functionality when it comes to editing and adding pages.

Don’t forget to add bleed and check your resolution.

We’ve all had to do last minute printing.  You dread the call back from the printer telling you that your image size is off and they can’t fix it. Well, I’m going to give you the steps and knowledge so that you can avoid this problem altogether  and submit proper files to the printer.

I will be using photoshop CS5 as a reference.
Check your Images and size.

First : Make sure all images used in the print file is at 300 DPI/Resolution.

Second: Be sure that you add bleed to your file. Our company uses .127 inch bleed. A 4 x 6 postcard file should be submitted at 4.125 x 6.125. All image/background should flood to the edge. Any pertinent text or logos should be 1/2″ from the edges.

To check and see if this is completed you have to view the ‘Image Size’

Under “Image” Click “Image Size”
You will see your size and resolution.
If you were printing business cards it should read
Width: 3.627
Height: 2.127
Resolution: 300

How to fix your size.

Here are some links that explain bleed in more detail

Health/Fitness Heads Up

Tip for shedding a few pounds or keeping your bad diet in check.

Eating in proportions.
Ideally you will want to eat a snack every 3 hours. (snack is a hand full of granolah, or a banana. best way to measure these is by your hands. both hands together and just enough to cover your palms. This method isn’t for everyone but it give your an idea.

“On the 6th hour”

On your 6th hour you will want to eat a meal. Best way to not stuff your face and feel heavy and bloded after eating is to order or make what you normally get and eat HALF.
Then push the rest AWAY. move it out your line of sight or out of reach. This prevents from nit picking.

if after and/or between 10 to 15 minutes your still hungry then eat a quarter more and call it quits. Normally by then your brain will register that your stomach is full and you will get those feelings of “I’M STUFFED”

NOW you dont want to stuff yourself because then your stomach wont digest your food all the way.

WHAT HAPPEN THEN YOUR STOMACH DOESN”T DIGEST?

the food left in there starts to ROT. eeeewwwwww. The rotting food turns into fat and the nutrients that where once in the food are GONE… Best way to know if you are over eating or eating to little is to check your poop. If it hurts coming out, then your need to drink MORE water and if its as big the hole it goes down or clogs your toilet then your EATING TO MUCH.

“RUN DOWN”

IF your poo clogs your toilet your eating to much, if its hard coming out then you need more water.

This time is based on your first meal in the morning/afternoon
Eat every 3rd hour.
Every 6th hour have a small meal. (half of what you normally eat.)

Only eat until your satisfied NOT full or stuffed…
